Who else is tired of these pre-recorded political ads on your phone?? |

Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 01:27 PM by noahmijo
BOTH sides are pissing me off with this bullshit. Given the fact that when they call your cell phone they are using YOUR minutes to pay for their fucking ad.
I'm about 10 calls away from being fed up and contacting the HQ's of those who each wasted 2 seconds of my life.
Then I'm gonna sell the story to "The Onion"
Take THAT punks! :)

4. Problem is though they show up as "unknown caller" |
|
normally I would never pick up if the ID displays unknown caller, but the thing is I have family whose work phones are blocked so I run the risk of ignoring an important call (every call from family to me is important) if I just let it ring.
Secondly sorry for having both a business and a personal life which requires me to have a cell phone in the event that I must respond if work calls or that every now and then my girl likes to call me just to say hi and brighten my day.

7. Yeah, then you're fucked. |

Political and non-solicitation calls will never be outlawed as long as legislators use them in campaigns.

9. I have that problem too. |
|
One of my friends shows up as "private" so I answer those calls anyway and sometimes it's not her. It's really annoying. I'm on my family's cell phone plan and my mom gets mad if I go over my daytime minutes.

8. I got one Saturday I couldn't get rid of |
|
Pushed the off button, put the phome in the cradle, nothing worked. It was a "telephone town hall" with some asshole running for Lt Gov of CA, and finally I hit the pound key as instructed to get in the queue to talk to the candidate - after 10 minutes some woman came on the phone - a screener or something. By then I was super pissed. What if I was having a medical emergency and couldn't get a line because your dumbass phone call was tying up my line?, I yelled. What if my friggin house was on fire and I couldn't get through to the fired department? The line went silent and when I pushed the off button again I got a dial tone. By Monday I had pretty much forgot about it but now I'd like to know who to bitch to.

10. Yeah, I listened to five of them yesterday and two others I didn't answer. |
|
I listen to the Democratic ads or the ones with Ford's voice (he has a nice voice) but hang up on the ones I figure are repukes. But I think I will just stop answering the phone now.
