Did the Clinton WH ever exclude RWers from media events?
Last night on Larry King, two asshole wingnuts made the claim (Boortz was one of them) that whenever the Clinton White House hosted a media event similar to the one Chimpy recently held, right wing radio commentators were not invited.

I don't ever remember (1) Clinton being such a partisan dick, and (2) the Clinton White House hosting propaganda rallies paid for by the American tax payer.

1. I Recall the Right Wing Boycotted
They would protest outside, trying to suck up all the oxygen. And they would get all the attention and press inches and time.

2. clinton never invited TALK SHOW HOSTS of any stripe to the WH!
So the statement is totally witout foundation! Second, I don't believe Clinton ever excluded anyone from any of his events, right or left. He had the ability to deal with the few dissenters that appeared!

8. He did once
it was when the health care bill first came up. The idea was that White House personnel would be available to discuss Hillary's plan with the radio people. It didn't quite work out that way because most of the radio folks were hostile to the plan or just did their regular shows and never even mentioned it.

Also, although it wasn't for a press event, Richard Mellon Scaife was invited to the White House because of his involvement with some issue (think it was adoption) that the Clintons were pushing.

3. They lie as easily as they breath
If I were the president the last thing I would want to do is hide those sumbitches. I'd have them to the white house often and shed sunlight on their evil asses.

right-wing journalists who came to media events were the ones covering The White House - e.g., The Washington Times and The Wall Street Journal. So, once again, Boortz is flat-out lying when he opines that the right wasn't represented. Unlike The Village Idiot, Bill Clinton didn't feel threatened by those espousing and writing opposing viewpoints (obviously, he didn't agree with them ;) ).

There were Republicans who worked in the Clinton White House and the NSC, and one who was a Cabinet Secretary (William Cohen, DefSec). But right-wingers? Not on your life!
