1. He is directing his comments towards his base

who are mentally children. Citizens who don't care if their constitutional rights are taken away from them for the good of their party. Citizens who consistently vote against their best interests. Citizens who are too fucking ignorant and proud to admit they have been incredibly wrong for a long, long time.
