amazing- no big news conference about how bush has stopped terror in the usa...no it was local guys who stumbled across the papers during a meth lab bust. seems under bush los alamos secrets still slip out...

1. probably just smoke and mirrors, IMO....
Until something of the nature of the "secret documents" is revealed, I'm going to assume this is just the usual national lab security mania-- they classify just about every scrap of paper, memo, etc. Anything identifiably from the lab without an explicit release is liable to be considered "secret documents," including the menus from the staff cafeteria. The usual office flotsam that ends up in just about everyone's briefcase would make a national security case at a national lab.

4. I saw it this morning.
I am immediately concerned whenever I see a breach of security. I worked in a classified environment for years and these things were taken very seriously. I don't know about now, but in my day the sweat factor would be extremely high right about now.

Whether every scrap of paper is classified or not, it's presence at a place that is not cleared to contain it is a big deal, indeed. There will be more about this, right now they probably have classified the investigation itself.
