Alito Astroturfing EXPOSED! Time to MONKEYWRENCH their efforts!
From my buddy JJ at American Politics Journal:
I've updated the article on the Alito astroturf e-mailing campaign. Catch this: some of the same words turn up in a press release issued two days ago by a "Christian" activist group (can you say it's all about Roe v Wade and eroding the exclusino clause?)

Well, guess what?

I found one of what may be many "spam engines" being used to send the phony-baloney letter. It's a site called Conservative Alerts. HERE is the page you can use to "write" a prefab letter in "support" of Alito -- or REWRITE it to expose the astroturfers!

MONKEYWRENCHING, anyone?

Dear ,

To the Editor:

Does any of this seem familair to you? It's because it's astroturf and
you should not be printing anyone's email that includes any of the
following propaganda....

Congressional Democrats are using the Alito nomination as a political
ploy
for their 2006 election strategy. Editorials in numerous liberal papers
from across the country, including The Washington Post, The New York
Daily
News, and The Los Angeles Times have endorsed Judge Alito, saying he
should be confirmed by the US Senate. The American Bar Association,
often
criticized as having a liberal bias, gave Judge Alito a
"well-qualified"
rating -- the highest rating one can receive from the organization.
Despite this support only one Democrat, Ben Nelson from Nebraska, has
said
he will vote for Judge Alito.

For Democrats this nomination is not about the Supreme Court, it is all
about the 2006 election and about their ability to raise money from far
left wing activists early in the'06 cycle. This is why Democrat
Senatorial
Campaign Committee Chairman and Judiciary Committee Member, Charles
Schumer (D-NY), has been so vicious, angry and frustrated in his
attacks
on Judge Alito. According to a report in Sunday's Washington Post,
Republicans have their "largest cash-on-hand lead over Democrats in
more
than a decade." Senate Democrats are being strong armed by far left
wing
special interest groups to obstruct or stop Judge Alito's nomination at
all costs, or risk losing donations going into the 2006 elections.

Judge Alito displayed amazing temperament and brilliance in the law
before
the Senate Judiciary committee. He answered over 700 questions in three
days of testimony. His qualifications and record have won the
endorsement
of many of the nations top liberal newspapers. He has the support of
the
liberal ABA. He has the support of Senator Ben Nelson. He has the
support
of Democrats who clerked for him and know his record backwards and
forwards. He has the support of his fellow judges. The only support he
does not have yet, is that of Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer and far
left-wing
groups who will "do what it takes" to stop his nomination for political
reasons.

I'm writing to say that the Senate should vote YES on Judge Samuel
Alito
for the U.S. Supreme Court.

The embarrassing behavior of Senators Kennedy and Schumer during the
hearings, combined with the blatant partisan politicking they are
currently engaged in surrounding the 2006 elections will backfire on
many
of those Senate Democrats, particularly red state Democrats, that
follow
Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer, and Harry Reid over the far left edge of
American politics.

Sincerely,

Anonymous Whistleblower
