DU this Cincinnati poll about Bill Clinton
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 04:13 PM by VolcanoJen
Bill Clinton visited Cincinnati yesterday to raise funds for John Cranley, who is running one helluva promising campaign in the Ohio 1st against incumbent Republican Steve "Comb-over" Chabot.

The original article about the visit is here:

http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061025/NEWS01/610250372/1077/COL02

In the article, the reporter makes the assumption that despite Clinton's overwhelming and enduring popularity, Cincinnatians are probably "split right down the middle" on whether they "could live without him." :eyes:

To make sure, I suppose, they posted a poll about Clinton's visit that has some wildly unrealistic results so far (68% think Bush is a better president!). Head on over, if you want to DU the poll. :-)

6. One of the most conservative CD's in the country.
I'd say the Ohio 1st is the second most conservative district in Ohio. Mean Jean Schmidt's district, the Ohio 2nd, is easily the most conservative CD in the state.

That makes it all the more impressive that John Cranley and Dr. Victoria Wulsin, respectively, are making one amazing challenge to both Republican candidates in these two redder-than-red Ohio districts!

8. ah... Cincinnati
I moved here two years ago and am shocked every day that there are still Bush stickers on people's cars down here. Do these people not pay attention, or do they seriously support a murderous torturing asshole? I will say this though: the last few months, I have seen a lot fewer of the "W" stickers than I used to.

Cincinnati is changing... just like the rest of the country.

Sorry you haven't had a positive experience here. You should check out "Drinking Liberally in Cincinnati" on Tuesday nights to meet some fun, like-minded folks in the 'Nati!!

18. yes, I agree. And honestly my neighborhood is no problem
as it's pretty artsy and lower to middle income, and quite Left (Northside). I do think there are a lot of great people here too, and I moved here knowing it was conservative - I just figured it needs more folks like us!

:)

I will check out that drinking group though!

i can say that as i was born & raised there. left finally at 28, thank christ. this poll is likely what my hometown district really thinks. my mom & dad HATE bill & hillary - this is one seriously uptight, white, german/irish catholic district. adultery is the worst crime in the world, and it sticks to the victim, too.

advance apologies to those who haven't got out, my brother among them; the best & brightest of the cincinnati's youth always leave rather than waste their one life in that humid, brown, stifling, self-satisfied, bigoted, xenophobic, willfully ignorant cultural desert.

the newspapers are a joke, the radio stations are rabidly right wing partisan, the white flight is as bad there as anywhere in the country, the downtown is slowly dying, the drinking water is mixed with pittsburg's effluent, the architectural heritage is being steadily torn down, & there are WAY too many freaking cops.

3 positives:
1. jerry springer was once mayor
2. cincy chili is very good, however, i can make that myself.
3. WAIF

..."that humid, brown, stifling, self-satisfied, bigoted, xenophobic, willfully ignorant cultural desert". Substitute unbelievably hot for humid and you're describing Phoenix. There is no earthly reason for so many shades of beige.

You got Jerry Springer, we got Evan Mecham.

Bill Clinton 1287 (32.22%)
George W. Bush 2708 (67.78%)

If President Clinton could run again in 2008, I'd:
Vote for him 1250 (31.29%)
Vote against him 2745 (68.71%)

President Clinton campaigning for congressional candidate John Cranley will:
Make me more likely to vote for Cranley 689 (17.25%)
Make me less likely to vote for Cranley 2509 (62.80%)
Won't matter 797 (19.95%)

and that's why the freepers are ahead. If you click off the site and the click on again, you can vote again, I don't do it but the freepers LOVE these kind of polls and spend an inordinate amount of time freeping them.

to believe in the American voter. I got hooked in 2004 into believing that the American voter were 'too good' and 'too smart' to vote for chimpie. I went into a funk over the 2004 election, and it could happen again.
Seventy percent think chimipie is a better president that Clinton?!? God damn.
