It's down to the last weeks!
Because of your support, PDA has shaped the '06 election discourse in ways that popular wisdom considered, two years ago, politically suicidal or impossible. But here we are: as the hypocrisy of "family values" has been cruelly revealed by the actions of its own poseurs, the snowball effect of progressive organizing resulted in new "discoveries" by the mainstream media! (The current well-orchestrated barrage of Barak publicity; the new presentation of Leader Pelosi as a Catholic mother of five!)

What do you know - there's a whole new category of voters called "progressives" who defy definition by old left/right paradigms!

We're delighted everyone's catching up. But now, more than ever, leadership by our truly grassroots Inside/Outside organization is crucial to nurture an authentically progressive agenda.

PDA candidates are finishing up their campaigns. Many of them began as dark horses, basing their runs on outspoken opposition to the war in Iraq and the Bush policies of torture, fiscal recklessness and wrecking the Constitution. David Bruderly, Francine Busby, Jeeni Criscenzo, Bill Durston, John Hall, Florice Hoffman, Andrew Hurst, John Laesch, Jerry McNerney, Shawn O'Donnell, Herb Paine, Dave Patlak, Tony Trupiano, Al Weed, Steve Young, our PDA candidates are closing strong and we look forward to having them in Congress. They're needed; Americans, waking up from this nightmare, will be depressed and confused. Only grounding in truth will show us the way out. The moral and fiscal state into which Bush led us will take realism and authenticity to escape. Truth heals. And the next generation coming along needs health. For a complete list of PDA endorsed candidates, click here

Please send a contribution to PDA today. PDA was correct, two years ago, in its analysis of what voters wanted and needed. It is the progressive agenda that is both energizing the Democratic base and attracting independent and crossover voters. They recognize that only a progressive agenda can deliver a hopeful future.

Far from being "fringe" or "far-left", PDA has attracted all kinds of citizens to its local chapters that serve and hear the needs of local voters. PDA knows local needs connect with international security strategies this way: international conflict demands repair instead of more vengeance. The nuclear age cannot deliver vengeance without suicide. Justice must come forth creatively. The progressive agenda of meeting basic needs - health care, jobs, education - begins the journey to a more secure world at home and abroad.

Whatever modicum of disposable income you have left with which you'd like to make a difference towards an agenda you can really trust for the future - give it to PDA.

PDA will strengthen progressive roots to take hold in the Democratic Party this coming year. PDA is hopeful; but it does not underestimate the GOP desperation this election cycle. Our defense is smart and strong; we have led in election protection efforts that have by necessity been organized county-by-county, state-by-state with activist poll workers and poll watchers. Though mainstream media is not yet able to acknowledge the strength of grassroots influence (too difficult to admit the waning of special interest influence) the facts are increasingly apparent: the voters are embracing the progressive agenda that top-down analysts tried hard to suppress.

PDA defined it at our inception: for starters, no more war, and a fight for honest elections. Progressives play defense hard and smart: for that reason, we know pre-emptive war is a hopelessly unsustainable and suicidal security policy. Progressives commit to delivering a hopeful future to our children and the world's next generations.

Please give now. Our candidates have stepped out and fought hard. They'll stand firm as leaders for the progressive agenda in Congress. Their supporters are watching the vote. PDA turns to its donors for one last push so we can have a visible impact this election cycle. Visit our website and make a donation of $25, $50, $250, $500 $1,000 or $5,000. Whatever you can give will help us continue our vital work.

We thank you - and so will the next generation!
