Bush: Americans 'barred from torture'
US President George Bush said that a recently passed US law barring torture doesn't contain loopholes that would allow abuses.

"No American will be allowed to torture another human being anywhere in the world," Bush said at a White House news conference.

of torturing people and getting NO useful information, they realize that it isn't worth the political hit when they get caught.

7. So why did he write his own little change to the McCain torture bill?
The one that said that the bill does not apply in any case that he
says it shouldn't apply.

Another lie.

Just like "I don't know Jack Abramoff."

or

"We have released 10s of thousands of papers about Katrina."
When asked why his administration won't release it's own notes
and make people available to committees studying Katrina ....
but falling to say why he wasn't releasing the info "they" wanted.

or

spying ........

8. Yeah, no American will be allowed to torture...but other countries CAN.
Why else do we render prisoners to other countries? I was mad the reporter didn't ask that as a follow up question. They also didn't challenge why he needs to have an exception that HE can give permission or over ride that law...so what good is it? The man's a conniving liar.

9. But this is no restriction upon him since
he is not an American himself (Kings need not be members of the subject people over whom they rule), and in any event he is above any laws, whether domestic or international.
