Danny Rolling--- R.I.H
Rest in hell you son of a bitch.

STARKE -- Danny Rolling was executed this evening, more than 16 years after he committed five grisly murders that terrorized the college community in Gainesville.

1. Rolling did eventually confess to all of the murders, correct?

2. Yes, I believe he did and I think they found a tape with some
incriminating evidence on it.

3. Again the people take a life
Sure the guy is scum. Let him rot in jail. If the state takes a life that makes us all sinners for we are the state. I've never understood how the religious right can condone the Death Penalty & in nearly the same breath be pro-life. I guess they'll have eternity in hell to figure that out.

5. I Agree
Rolling's poorly-motivated and narcissistic killing spree was one of the most heinous chapters in the history of American homicide. In recent years, I have turned away from the Death Penalty, but Rolling--along with Lawrence Bittaker--are the two convicts I truly would like to see executed before the Death Penalty is outlawed.

Rolling and Bittaker's crimes were beyond the pale, and their arrogance and flippancy and complete lack of remorse--as well as their penchant for profitting from their crimes by signing autographs, selling paintings and writing books--singles them out, in my mind, as perfect candidates for execution.

Now if they would just get rid of Bittaker.

After that, I'll be against the death penalty.

7. This original post....
.. and those who find agreement with its vile, contemptible, regressive, and utterly vindicative sentiment should, themselves, give long and deep thought to their own personal value system.

It is no better, and indeed arguably worse, than that system of the man whom they condemn and who was, himself, murdered today by virtue of the state.

Shame, Pitiful and despicable shame on all. Shame that is reserved for the posts and statements far more appropriate to Lucien, Free Republic, and Rush Limbaugh.

It gives one pause to see these posts and consider what DU is becoming. Do the community a favor and should you find yourself comfortable with the pure evil being expressed in this thread, don't even begin to consider yourself a liberal or progressive and certainly remove any thought of self-characterizations of christian, caring, or compassionate from your vocabulary. At least then the component of hypocrisy will be removed from the equation.
