We're Dyin' here...
Here in America...

Where things have changed.

Where we got bought.

By the Halliburton's and Enrons...

To buy pretty boats
for those who know more than we.

For those who are worth
more than you and me.

We're Dyin' here.

tryin' to keep our head
above water

while we jump for
the golden ring

called "The American Dream."

which is long
gone.

long

gone.

Dead.

But so few

here
know
it.

Welcome to fealty.

1. Very powerful.
Is that your own composition? I think the use of space is very well done.

3. yup. mine, thanks.
And the space thing is a "science" I am working on for internet usage in creative writing....

Language, semantics and form are totally different on a screen when compared to the page. I feel the spacing format would still be there for print, but it would be compacted.

6. I also like your use of sounds.
Especially 'pretty boats.' It sounds so calm and innocent. I don't really know how to describe the effect, but I find it quite powerful.

2. Sounds like, perhaps, the 'rising tide' is drowning the middle class
and the poor, since only the rich can now afford boats?

7. I can take a ride in my canoe
And appreciate more in 1 mile than a hundred miles in a larger boat.

Money will take you far.

Far from where you are.

8. Dunno... WHen one is working so hard to go the next inch they may
forget to enjoy the scenery in lieu of the task at hand?

4. No!
I know it too, as do many others.

The problem is what to do.

We must remain positive and stay active, in our support roles.

Everyone must vote.

Our democracy is on the line.

November 7th will point the path to better or worse.

It is time to fight like there is a chance to save our country from Fascism.
