Pelosi/Waxman Prepping Effort to Force WH on Abramoff Contacts
Democrats prep effort to force White House on Abramoff contacts
RAW STORY
Published: January 26, 2006

Democrats are preparing to stage a move that would attempt to force the White House to turn over photographs of the President with his onetime fundraiser and now-guilty lobbyist Jack Abramoff, RAW STORY has learned.

House Democratic insiders, saying they were reticent to tip their hand, were quiet on the specifics of the effort or when it would occur. But indications suggest that the move is being coordinated with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the ranking Democrat on the Government Reform Committee, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA).

As the leading Democrat on Government Reform, Waxman has had significant success in the past in forcing the Bush Administration to turn over documentation that sheds unfavorable light on Administration activities, and has been ardently critical of government waste.

1. Oh, please
Does anyone listen to any Democrats anymore. Bush must be laughing his ass off. Everyone now knows after the Supreme Court debacle(s) that when the Dem leadership says 'Now we got him and this is what we will do' that eventually they will back down and say, 'Yes, sir, anything you want, sir'.

I'm not even going to listen anymore. We are just going to be ready to protect our family for the eventual loss of all our rights.

2. Bullshit! Waxman NEVER Backs Down! WTF Are You Talking About?
He may not get what he asks for, but he NEVER backs down. You don't what you're talking about. Waxman is one of the best Dems we've got out there.

5. So what?
Ok, I agree Waxman may not back down on anything, but so what. The House has no power and Waxman can investigate all he wants and for as long as he wants. The Senate has the power and by giving Bush the Supreme Court he wants without barely a fight it doesn't matter what Waxman does. Bush will have total power to do as he pleases and tell Waxman to stuff it. By the time Waxman makes the people believe what he is saying, if ever given the brainless American public, it won't matter.

6. So What?
So you unfairly slammed Waxman and lumped him in w/ company with which he doesn't belong. People like Waxman need all the support we can give them, and I don't want anyone else who might read your post to get the idea that Waxman is anything less than one of the most righteous upstanding, consistent fighters we've got out there.

9. So
I apologize, Henry. You never back down and are a fine Representative. However, if the Senators don't have a spine what does it matter in the long run? Bush has Alito, Bush has his SC, Bush has all the power in all 3 branches that he needs, and we have nothing.

10. Well, In That Case, May I Suggest You Just Curl Up Into The Fetal Position

and cry from now until eternity, it will be just as effective as unfairly slamming the fighters we DO have. Waxman should give you a modicum of hope that there are some people out there fighting the good fight. We don't have nothing, we've got Waxman and there ARE others like him.

Whining about how powerless we are serves nothing. Yeah, Bush is laughing his ass off at YOU and your whining. You give up, he laughs because that's exactly what he wants. Your whining makes Chimpy smirk.

3. Who cares about the damned pictures! That's the LEAST of our worries.
When I saw a post that Issikoff was say Abramoff might be shopping them around...I knew it was a "false trail."

Also the Whore White House Press kept asking about the stupid pictures over and over when there were many other questions that SHOULD have been asked.

Straw Man/Red Herring...those damned pictures....:grr:

Unless they show Bush nude with Abramoff they would mean nothing.

4. I think you're right about this.
The Abramoff pictures are a nice distraction from the power grab, torture, and domestic snooping that are the real hallmarks of bushco.

For every question wasted on this at press opportuniteis, a reporter could have been asking an important question.

7. However, if Time magazine has the Abramoff photo
on its cover instead of the SOTU, it could indicate that there is hope that the cabal is collapsing.
