Tweety: The RNC has pulled all it's funds out of Pennsylvania (Santorum)
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 08:57 PM by sabra
Anyone else hear that? It seems like the RNC believe Santorum's reelection is a lost cause, and decided to pull all funds.

15. Tennessee is one place their money would be better spent
I saw something about Montana tightening up, but I hope that's not true.

Missouri is one they could still win.

Virginia is tight, so Felix might benfit from some extra cash.

How's New Jersey going? I know Memendez really isn't popular there.

Of course, there's the de facto GOP senate candidate in Connecticut.

23. Montana is tight but Burns hasn't led in a single poll since Tester won the primary
Plus some polls still have Tester ahead by 7. If the election were held today I would be extremely surprised if Burns won.

4. Then the DNC should just throw MILLIONS to Menendez.
We can't lose that seat.

6. It's a feint
Every election Rove pretends that he thionks they can win in New Jersey, and every election, he's "wrong." I don't see it happening, regardless of ads. Menendez by 5-6% and everybody really knows it. They'll funnel some money into NJ to keep the Dems on the defensive in Virginia and Tennessee. The real fights are in Virginia and Tennessee. Pennsylvania is done with, almost. It would take a dead girl scandal for Casey to lose to the Senator from Virginia at this point.

14. And the ad buys for the Menendez market are so expensive
it would break them in no time. New York teevee time purchases will eat them alive.

Plus they're hemorrhaging in almost every race in the country. Candidates are hounding them everywhere. :nopity:

18. (Large) waste of money. Throwing RNC $$$ into NYC and Philly.
Kean has a better shot than Santorum does, but the overwhelming majority of people who watch those adds hate Republicans.

16. I think he can be trusted with facts
When he tries to give his point of view, he always acts like he's doing gymnastics not to look too far to the right or to the left. That impresses me mopre as posturing than havin any real point of view.

20. Yes - as another poster pointed out they pulled out over a week
ago. Also Santorum has gone dark on network TV, he's doing minimal ad buys on cable. His ads have virtually disappeared from radio & TV in at least my part of PA - Pittsburgh area.

21. Oh, please say it's so!
I am hoping all this deception about "pulling funds" has no effect on this election. It's a method to motivate their base to put in more time, but it also may be a true threat.

22. Did anyone else hear Tweety 's followup remark?
I swear he said "That's a good thing." I replayed it twice to make sure.

Sounded like Tweety was relieved that Santorum wasn't going to get any more funding.

26. Chuck Shumer said it at a press conference. On stage with Elizabeth
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 12:18 AM by oasis
Dole, the GOP Senatorial Campaign chair, Shumer's revelation made her turn beet red. "Dizzy" Liddy was so gracious at the beginning of the press conference but was flattened after that.

It was on C-SPAN.
