Was kinda looking forward to the context that was sure to go along with it, but was admittedly disappointed to not have found any.

TV is the problem of what? Kinda need to offer a bit more in order for that phrase to have any impact.

Education is a failure? Ok, how so or in what ways? All education? Certain education? Is it a failure because of TV? If so, how so? Not sure what avenue of discussion you wanted that phrase to head down. Course, it's kinda hard to offer the avenue with only four words.

You asked if they ran the world. Pretty silly question. If it was meant to be silly, it should be in the lounge, no? Since it was in GD, I could only surmise that you were actually looking for serious discussion but you offered no insight whatsoever towards the concept. It was just left wide open as a silly statement.

You then stated TV is the problem. Problem of what? You once again failed to provide any substance to the 4 word statement. It was just thrown in with no rhyme or reason.

You then declared that education is a failure. But amazingly, you provided no substance or context for that either, or anything that would stimulate real conversation from a reader since someone reading it would have not a clue of what your reasons for issuing the statement were. Just another 4 word statement with nothing to follow.

You finished by saying you give up. This time your declaration was only 3 words. Again you didn't provide anything further to offer substance or rhyme and reason to your declaration. Once again, the reader is left having not a clue as to what your motivation or reasoning was for posting it to begin with, or what your fight even was that you are now giving up on.

Generally, if you're going to post a thread, it's appreciated if you actually put some thought behind it and offer some points for discussion rather than just silly 3 or 4 word declarations absent of insight.

We don't teach critical thinking... you know, that practical type

of thinking that challenges the student to think things out and

come up with a solution?

Instead we teach memorization. Memorize this fact and that

fact and pretty soon, you can pass the test and move forward.

There are so many useless facts thrown at the students from

all subjects in all areas and from all sides and they come at

the student so fast he/she has no strength or time left to do

anything more than continue to memorize them in hopes of

passing through the current hell into what they hope will be a

better existence.

Add to this need to memorize a million useless facts the

million useless Bible verses and then a million useless talking

points... and by the time you get to 14 years old, you have a

young republican.

Of course, he needs to hone his ability to lie. This comes

from practice. First the lie #1 must be made up and

memorized, repeated until it works. Then Lie #2 has to be

made up and memorized, and it has to fit conveniently into Lie

#1 so they don't cross up purposes. Then Lie #3 has to be

made up and memorized, and has to fit conveniently into Lie

#1 and #2 so they don't cross up purposes. Then Lie #4...

well you get the point. By the time you get to Lie #50 your

brain cells are fried.

This is why these people feel so comfortable with all the flak
and lies coming from all angles and from all republicans;being

thrown at "We the People" in an ONSLAUGHT of frightening

stories, from all angles, day in and day out, non stop for year

after year after year. To them it is normal.

Then you need the whole republican party full of lying talking

points to support your pack of lies... so you can sleep at night

instead of lying there memorizing lies. And you wonder why

these people get their kids from test tubes?

When you try to speak to one of these freepers... they can't

what you are saying. Literally. They are busy memorizing a

I had no idea such a thing existed. Pretty cool actually.

I was diagnosed with a severe growth deficiency as a child, and was on growth hormone for 9 years. Started on human growth hormone, and was actually one of the very first people ever to get the new synthetic version from Genetech, Somatropin, when it first came out. I gotta say though, even at 5'6 I'm damn proud of my height actually. Without the HGH treatment my max adult height was estimated to have been about 4'8 or so. So I'm pretty damn pleased at how the treatment worked out.

But anyway, cool website, and welcome to DU!
