Why are Republicans so obsessed with other people's sex lives?
Do you care what consenting adults do in their bedroom? Do you even think about it, much less make a public issue of it? What is it about gay people that gets Republicans so excited? What is the obsession about? What are they so afraid of????????

I phone banked once to Tennessee, and a young woman I called asked me if my candidate was opposed to gay rights. I told her no because he doesn't worry about what gay people do in private. She anwered, 'Well, I care! My pastor talked about it in church.' Oh brother!

John Stewart nails the all-Republican obsession. Watch:

1. I actually think it's more of their problems with projection...
The stuff inside their head is so damn scary they think that everyone else is as fucked up as they are.

2. They obsess because they don't have healthy sex lives
of their own. They also "project" about deviant lifestyles that they imagine others are having, and then they try to playact their own versions of that deviant lifestyle (thinking that they are missing out on something that those hollywood types are doing all the time).

That's why, when the repukes have a convention, all the hookers show up for the after hours action... action that the repukes will condemn from the pulpits when they get back home.

3. Sex is the perfect fuel for the moral bandwagon.
Think about it. Will sex EVER be a happy, heaven sent, non-controversial topic? Ever?

It's the perpetual moral panic machine and the busybodies will always have gasoline to throw on the fire. Always.

That means perpetual donations to the cause. Forever and ever, Amen.

4. Their whackjob religious leaders tell them sex is eeeeevil
Then they internalize this notion and repress themselves sexually. Next thing you know they can't think about anything but sex because their own sex lives are so unhealthy, if not non-existent. Therefore they have to obsess about what everyone else is doing (or what they think everyone else is doing) and try to get those people to be as repressed as they are.

6. A massive outbreak of happiness would destroy them.
Think about it. It pays for them to keep people depressed, unfulfilled, and brooding. Every one of their social and economic agendas underlines this point.

hearing about it...Their whole lives they hide, repress and lie about their natural sexual feelings that their god gave them...That's what being conservative, regressives and religion are all about. GUILT!

8. That Jon Stewart clip SAYS IT ALL.
When a Republican can compare gay marriage to a guy fucking a box turtle.....well, there you have it.

10. Fundies Are Obsessed, Period
Pick a topic, and they have a rigid, unreal, closed minded response. All their thinking has been done for them, and there is no need for updates, new information, or correction.

They can't handle anything that isn't one dimensional, black and white (or better yet, just black), and inflammatory.
