Progressives Americans Should Celebrate NJ Court Decision |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 07:26 AM by lionesspriyanka
Its a human rights victory
A victory over bigotry.
It's one more step in a progressive direction for this country.
Its another break away from the hatred perpetuated by this government for the last 6 years.
Isn't this what we stand for as a party and as an ideology?

On its face, it looks like the Mass decision, where the legislature has to come up with some equality in its rules.
I'd call it a stay of execution for now. Let's see what they come up with.
At least it is a step in the right direction. I don't think of this as an "ideological" issue. I like to think of it as a "rational" way to foster equality. Ideology is for the fundies.

I've already posted that I wish the decision was a bit more firm, but the effect will be the same.

It would've really bothered me if NJ had become like some gay-hating state. I was very pleased to see the outcome.
