Blanche Lincoln is not supporting a filibuster.
I spoke with a staffer on the phone who said that she doesn't find it "important" enough at this time.

I responded that Ms. Lincoln came to California two years ago and felt it was "important" enough to hit Californians up for $250, $500 to $1000 for her re-election campaign in which I at the time was happy to contribute.

He then said I should call my Senators, of which I replied I already had.

He then said in so many words, she doesn't have to answer to me.

I said that's fine. Then I added please tell Ms. Lincoln to hold off on the fundraisers to California if shes feels compelled to not answer to Americans at large who give hundreds to her campaign in the actual hope she will do her job and actually show some leadership.

Senator Lincoln is a coward. There is no other way to put it. And as such she is putting her own constituents in jeopardy as well as all other Americans.

This nomination may not be "important" to her in her insulated Washington office, but it is to every other American.

If youd like to give her office a call, especially if you live in Arkansas, please feel free:

1. Is it toll free?
I'll be glad to call, but I'm at work and can't make toll calls from here. I'm assuming 888 means it is toll free, but I have to be careful. Yes, I live in Arkansas, and I'll be glad to phone her and give her an earful.

2. It IS toll free!
I checked in my phone directory and found it was. Might interest you to know that her line is busy-perhaps other Arkansans are phoning her right now.

3. So we know 4 of the infamous 8
Lincoln, Landreau, Johnson and Nelson of NE.

I'm shocked and surprised that these two female Senators would do this. They profess to be pro-choice but here they are willing to allow a man to a lifetime appointment which may be the key vote to overturn Roe.

5. You know you are absolutely right that two female senators are voting for
this man.

This needs to be passed to as many pro-choice women as possible.

10. Feinstein. Didn't she publicly say she would vote no but
not support a filibuster?

Feinstein is certainly #5.

17. They also don't believe in their own jobs, or in checks and balances
a vote for Alito is a vote against the power of the house and senate.

18. Lincoln is voting NO on Alito
just said so on a speech on the floor of the Senate. Based it on uncheck executive powers.

empty gesture. Either she wants him on the court or she doesn't. If she doesn't then the only way that is going to happen is if she filibusters. If they use the "nuclear option" than we can use it against them saying "they will do anything for this president." If they don't, than we have succeeded in keeping Alito off the court.

8. They told me no decision
I just talked to a woman who said she hadn't decided. So keep up the pressure on all of them. Including Hillary because I still say if she hasn't made a decision yet then she isn't helping.

First time I called, the line was busy. Next time, they wouldn't answer, and the voice mailbox was full.

22. I just spoke with the Fayetteville office. He said he was not sure, but
thought she had not decided on the filibuster. I expressed my concern that without a filibuster a 'no' vote against confirmation was pretty much an empty gesture. We talked about the 'unitary executive' and he said he would get my message to her.
