I'd like every person attacking MJ Fox for supporting stem cell research |
|
to come out publicly and loudly for making in vetro fertilization illegal.

1. That is the logical choice |

Also I'd like all ads refuting MJFox to not have celebrities but have Parkinson patients. He was speaking as a patient not as an actor so only someone with the disease should be allowed to "rebut".
They are already growing embryos. What is being debated is what to do with them. Fucking asshole heartless hypocrites.
On edit: Pardon my language but they make me soo very mad.

3. "only someone with the disease should be allowed to "rebut"."?? |

Why stop there? How about only white, male Canadian actors can rebut? It makes as much sense as your limitations. I believe anyone can rebut. Let the debate be reasonable and fact based. Those limitations sound more reasonable.

He is making a statement about a cure for his illness and celebrities are responding from a political viewpoint. Not equal. Patient to patient would be a fair fight. My point is that they can't find a Parkinsons patient that would agree with them and rebut.
We are talking about curing diseases with science. The debate should be "reasonable and fact-based" but it hasn't been when they are defending their position from a religious standpoint. I'm all for limiting the debate to scientific arguements but that's not going to happen. The OP was about their hypocrisy anyway which is absolute unless they are also fighting against creation of all embryos for any prupose.

after all, those scarred fallopian tubes were gawd's will, not the chlamydia.
They'd also love to ban birth control, make women completely subservient to their husbands and unable to refuse sex, and shame all unmarried women into giving their children up to orphanages.
That's who the enemy is, folks.

but I'd like them to say it, out loud, so that everyone clearly understands what's at stake.
Follow thier argument to it's logical conclusion and it effects everyone, not just canadian actors. Mr and Mrs Middle America need to understand that their bedroom / personal life is just as fair game as mine and yours.
I think that's why they hit a brick wall with Shiavo (sp - sorry). Too many people could imagine themselves in Micheal's place, trying to decide the right course of action for a sick spouse or parent. Same thing with in vitro. Even if you don't have fertility problems, lots of people can imagine looking for a medical treatment if they did.
