Coulter: "Ford is my favorite Democrat and I wish he were running in Rhode Island"

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,225598,00.html

<snip>

COULTER: Those are the three of about six or seven that are highly contested that I actually think we're going to win. In Talent's case, I just can't believe he is in trouble. He is a magnificent senator. If anyone should be in trouble, it shouldn't be Jim Talent, though Missouri is a very weird state. It seems to be like half Tennessee, half Massachusetts. They voted for Adlai Stevenson in 1956. It is kind of a nutty state. They voted for Clinton twice and but they also voted for John Ashcroft.

Allen I think is ahead and Ford I think is also an interesting case in Tennessee because I hate to say this but Ford is my favorite Democrat and I wish he were running in Rhode Island against Chafee and I would support him. If he were running in Connecticut I would support him.

GIBSON: But these Senate races...

COULTER: But he is a Democrat. I just want to get that in. I do not support the Democrat in Tennessee. You must always vote for the Republican, because as good as Harold Ford is, he still belongs to a rotten party. He ought to become a Republican.

4. Reverse psychology warning!!!
She's just trying to torpedo Ford's hopes with liberal/progressive Democrats who may already be displeased with Ford. I don't believe this for a second.

5. Ashcroft was beaten by a dead man
JEFFERSON CITY - Missourians handed John Ashcroft a dubious historical distinction Tuesday, making him the first senator ever to be defeated by a dead man.

Late governor Mel Carnahan, riding an eleventh-hour surge of St. Louis city votes, led Ashcroft 50-49 percent with 86 percent of precincts reporting. Major news organizations nationwide were calling the race for Carnahan.

Mel Carnahan died in a plane wreck while campaigning on Oct. 16. Roger Wilson, who became governor after the crash, said he would appoint Jean Carnahan if Mel Carnahan outpolled Ashcroft. The first lady later said she would accept the term which would expire under state law in 2002.

14. Is she registered to vote in Rhode Island, too?
As I recall, Little Arfin' Annie was registered to vote in two precincts in Florida, and now it appears she wants to vote in Rhode Island and perhaps Missouri, too. I guess that whole "one man, one vote" thing is another "quaint" relic from a bygone era that needs to adapt to a new reality post-9/11.

21. Don't buy into this
Ann Coulter would never support a black person for any kind of office. She's trying to make Democrats not for Ford by making them think he's her kind of candidate.
