It's time to go after Rush Limbaugh's sponsors.
I will contact every business that he pimps on his program and tell them firmly and absolutely that they will never get a cent from from me or my family as long as they advertise on his program. By advertising they are saying they endorse his despicable line of bullshit. He crossed the line this week.

Select Comfort beds is first on the list of many. Who's next?

2. I emailed local radio station's Sales Dept. to tell them about a planned boycott of sponsors
They don't care about politics, but they do care about the bottom line.

6. The stations love the attention. The sponsors are the ones to contact
My local hate station couldn't care less. They bask in the attention.

It's the advertisers that control the purse strings.

5. He takes particular pride in being a capitalist, so why not?

Seems like the best way to go after him. I know it's what they would do if positions were reversed.

12. I would do a subtle backhanded approach: "my kids may hear this and...
think that bullying, racism, and cruelty are okay because they hear it on the radio. At the very least, when we drive by your store, they will think that you approve of it--and we will be driving BY not stopping to shop there..."

13. Going after the sponsors is the sound strategy...
I think it was on O'Lielly's radio program last year when he went too far in asking the terrorists to come and blow up Coit Tower.

Left Blogsylvania started a MASSIVE emailing and phoning campaign to the sponsors of his show informing them of an enormous boycott until they quit sponsoring Billo.
IIRC, the radio station in question dropped the show.

I may have the radio non-personality wrong, but I do remember the boycott, and that it did succeed for a particular station.

14. We need a webpage with easy instructions and an email
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 07:24 PM by Rockstone
one of those chain emails:

Subject: Dear friends, please help me

Rush Limbaugh is at it again. This time he has attacked Michael J. Fox for his latest efforts to help find the cure for the disease he suffers from.

Parkinsons is a debilitating disease that afflicts many Americans. It is enough of a challenge for its sufferers to live through the affliction, until the eventual death, without parasites like Limbaugh trying to cover up the seriousness of their plight for his own gain, as a loyal mouthpiece for big money politics.

In an effort to lead people away from finding the cure, Rush actually told his listeners that Michael J. Fox was only pretending to have the disease! Is there any limit to his decency?

Please make an effort to help. It is not hard. You can contact the advertisers who support Rush Limbaugh and let them know of your displeasure or even if you just forward this email to someone it will help find the cure to Parkinsons.

America can find the cure if we work together and remove the obstacles that impede the effort.

16. Yes and if you contact sponsors tell them which of their competitors
you will be buying from and asking all your friends to buy from.

17. It won't work with the Limp-Paw's sponsors. They'll read every email
as more listeners and more $ in the bank. And they're obviously already beyond embarassment.
