You know why the Michael J. Fox ad worked? |
|
Because it was emotional. The sheeple are emotional. It's an unfortunate fact that the pukes have exploited for the last 20 years.
Stem cell research is our abortion. It is the issue that we can and should be using to appeal to the emotions of the apolitical nitwits out there. The majority agrees with stem cell research. Stem cell research is an emotional topic. The pukes go haywire every time we bring it up. Let's make it the central issue from now on.

I like the analogy: its our abortion. Another emotional issue that we possess is "right to die with dignity."

2. If Limbaugh keeps flapping his uncontrollable mouth he'll be a big help |
|
He's obsessed with bashing Michael J. Fox and the stem-cell program, and all the while he's helping dig a grave for the GOP.

3. Sheeple are emotional? Perhaps, but only if they don't listen to |
|
Limpballs. Because apparently, whatever he says goes. His sheeple are being told how to (re)act.

4. It also worked because Michael J. Fox is one of the |
|
most likable celebrities around and I think most people - of all political stripes - believe it sucks that he was dealt this hand.

7. Some things like illness are spread across party lines and across |
|
economic divides. Here is a disease that money can't escape from.. similar to cancer, diabetes, etc.

You'd be hard-pressed to find people who have negative things to say about Michael J. Fox. He's about as close to teflon as you can find in Hollywood. By mocking him and his illness, people like Limbaugh only wind up with the shit on themselves.

5. A solid majority support stem cell research AND legal abortion |
|
Both issues are ours IMO.

Abortion is currently legal. If the pukes succeed in getting one more supreme court judge to overturn it, then it'll be an issue again. But for now, pro choice doesn't have the motivation to vote when we all know any law trying to ban abortion will be struck down.

10. A solid majority also supports either civil unions or gay marriage. |
|
It's troubling that these social issues get twisted against us when most people support our positions.

6. The Republican response ad demonstrates that they don't get it. |
|
They seem to think the Fox ad worked because Fox is a celebrity, which is why their response ad features "celebrities." They're missing the point.
It works because people have seen Michael J. Fox since he was a teenager. He grew up in front of us. When you've seen somebody for that long, even if it's just on TV, he becomes almost a part of your family. And nobody wants to see a member of their family suffer.
That's why an ad like that works. People see Michael J. Fox and say, "Hey, I know him. He's a good guy. It's not right he should have to go through this."
So the issue becomes: Why wouldn't you want to help somebody like Michael J. Fox if you could?

12. Yep. Since being hit with this horrible condition, Fox has worked hard |
|
to raise our understanding of it. He has done amazing things and given hope to so many others who are ill and the families who love them. He is straight forward.
The GOP can't handle real people who are good and unselfish. They don't get it so they disparage it. They know THEY are always lying and playing people. They assume everyone is like them.
Rush is the most pathetic man in America. And one of the most ridiculous.
Mr. Fox has been honest and frank. He serves a purpose.

14. Sheeple? Please, I'd prefer to think of "sheeple" as the ones |
|
listening to Rush so they can figure out where they stand on this. I'd like to think folks that are moved to compassion by MJF's commercial deserve a better label than "sheeple". Isn't that term's 15 minutes up already, anyway?
