How close are we to the needed 41 Senators?
Does anyone know, how many have said they support a filibuster to date?

I've been looking for 20 minutes and am no closer then when I started.

2. I'm afraid it's over...
We aren't counting up to 41, I'm afraid we are counting down from 45. Ben Nelson, Tim Johnson, and Bob Byrd are all voting for Alito, and there may be more. Salazar, Lincoln, and Landrieau have already said they would vote yes on cloture. That leaves at least 60 votes for cloture.

Teh only chance would be if Chafee, Collins, and Snowe all join the filibuster and there is a Snowe-ball's chance in hell of that happening.

4. No! Nelson is waffling and Byrd is asking for calls. He's getting
hit hard by RW calls.

The definite nos on the filibuster: Feinstein, Lincoln, Landreau, Johnson, Nelson and Salazar.
And Nelson and Salazar have shifted their positions from absolute yes votes.

6. Lincoln's office denys that she has made a decision on the filibuster as
of 1:30PM CST.

3. So far, on Cspan, there are 29 no votes registered.
I don't know how many have come out in support of a filibuster though.

5. We don't know yet
I don't think we have any idea on the filibuster - we probably won't until there's a vote on cloture. (the vote lists in other posts in this thread are on the nomination itself, not on the filibuster - they are two different things)
