TEHRAN, Iran - Iran has expanded its nuclear program by enriching uranium in a second network of centrifuges, a semi-official news agency reported Friday.

The news came as world powers worked on a draft U.N. Security Council resolution that could impose limited sanctions on Iran because of its refusal to cease enrichment — a process that can produce fuel for a civilian nuclear reactor or fissile material for a warhead.

The Iranian Students News Agency quoted an anonymous official on Friday as saying that Iran has begun successfully injecting gas into a second set of centrifuges

"We are injecting gas into the second cascade, which we installed two weeks ago," the anonymous official was quoted by ISNA as saying. "We have already exploited the product of the second cascade."

TEHRAN, Oct.27 (ISNA)-An Iranian official asserted that the second centrifuge cascade of Uranium enrichment had started working and reiterated that in the last days gas was inoculated into the cascade.

While noting the recent remarks made by the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohammed Elbaradei who had stated that the Iran's second centrifuge cascade would start working, this Iranian official stated that the second cascade was installed two weeks ago and that gas was inoculated into it just last week.

"The remarks by Mohammed Elbaradei are sheer propaganda by the director of the IAEA," he stated.

According to the remarks made by the IAEA director, Iran will increase this amount to 3000 centrifuges in the up coming months.

if I were them I would be doing the same thing under these same circumstances because no one is safe anymore especially if you happen to have any natural resources and want to keep it for your own people.

"Iran produced a small batch of low-enriched uranium — suitable as nuclear fuel but not weapons grade — in February, using its initial cascade of 164 centrifuges at its pilot plant at Natanz.
"Iran says it plans to install 3,000 centrifuges at Natanz by the end of this year. Some 54,000 centrifuges would be required to produce enough nuclear fuel for a reactor."

So Iran is in the process of building the first 5% of the equipment necessary to make fuel for a reactor, which isn't even good enough for a bomb anyway, and the anti-Muslim crusaders get all in a panic and demand immediate sanctions. BOO!
