7. "the State Department calls it torture"
mentioned how someone was convicted of using this AGAINST a U.S. citizen in the past and was sentenced to 15 years hard labor.

17. We tried war criminals after World War II for the exact same thing.
The good guys (that would be the country we used to be) classified water boarding as torture and we tried people and found them guilty for these crimes.

I have always espoused the theory that if you think it isn't torture than you should be willing to undergo the procedure on camera to prove your point. For your country. Your president needs you. Since they think it is just a "fraternity hazing" don'tcha think they would get a kick out of proving the WORLD wrong? Who's first, Cheney, Lush Limpballs, O'Lielly? Anyone? Anyone?

They make it a Pay Per View and I'd fore go the mortgage for a month for a look see. (It would probably bring out the really nasty side of me - if anyone of those creeps was water boarded I know I would TiVo it and watch every night before drifting off to sleep. I'm not proud, nor surprised, of that aspect of my character after six years of these "morans.")

19. Sickening
I literally feel sick to my stomach. That is torture, and I can't believe it's something that my own country has done, & has defended.

20. If is the kind I saw on current, then it is the milder form...
there is a more dangerous and more threatening kind of water-boarding which harkens back to the days of witch hunting.

Someone is strapped face down to a board, it moves like a lever, and they are dunked in a tub of water. They cannot breath, and if the torturer chooses, they may cause the person to literally drown and pass out. Then they can bring them out of the water, and depending on the angle of the lever in relationship to the tub of water, the tortured person lung may empty with water. Though there is damage caused, it is not enough to kill someone, and eventually the tortured wakes from their unconscious state to water-boarded once again.

It is like killing someone by drowning them, but bringing them back from unconsciousness just in time to kill them by drowning again. Truly a horrible practice.
