Does Loyalty override Honesty?
I am listinging to Sam condem this caller as an "agent provacatuer" for not perceiving the racism in the corker ads.

I am open to the charge in relation to the playboy TV ad.

What I have a problem with specifically is the "jungle drum" accusation. I just don't hear jungle drums.

For jungle drums I think of different pitched drums and poly-rhythms. The radio spot sounds like to me like it is military drums, all in synch - you know, like battle field drums. And the large reverb on them adds to that specific interpretation.

Maybe I am not hearing it clearly enough. I am listening to the 16k stream on my phone.

So my question is am I supposed to change my honest opinion to fit with the party line or am I allowed to hold my opinion?

Am I bad democrat if I don't say "yes those are jungle drums"? Or is it better to be honest, even if it is not politically compatible.

Further, it is discomforting to me to be so out of step with the dominant opinion on this. But don't we hold honesty as our highest priority foundational value.

This may not be the time to discuss this. I am all for the unity message, but I am not sure what I should say when I honestly just don't hear what they are describing.

1. Honesty's better, of course...

If, over night, you woke up in a bizarro world where up was down, black was white, and Democrats were all conservatives while Republicans were progressive/moderate, would you still be a Democrat?

So I get your point. I just find it discouraging to be see people attacked for their subjective opinions.

I just find this whole thing of "you're my enemy in all regards because you didn't agree with on one specific thought" thing that is going on. it seems like a wide embrace of something that be opposed.

3. Honesty to oneself ...
You can't walk all the party lines, nor can anyone else.
Cling/fight/argue/debate/die for what YOU believe.

...O...
