How did you like Rummy telling us to 'back off' and 'relax' yesterday?
“You ought to just back off, take a look at it, relax, understand that it’s complicated, it’s difficult,” Rumsfeld said regarding deadlines. “Honorable people are working on these things together. There isn’t any daylight between them.”

Wonder who the 'honorable people' are? Wonder how military families like being told to 'relax' when their children and parents are dying 2, 3, or more a day?

Rummy should have been gone long ago. Any real President would have fired his ass.

5. we're just unruly skule kids who don't unnerstand nuttin.
Where is the honor in sending people into war without proper planning, support, exit plans or supply plans? Where is the honor in knowing more will die senselessly with aboslutely no chance of success so long as the current state of affairs (ie, our policies such as they are) continue.

6. Now if one reporter would refer to Rumsfeld's pre-war assessments
about the whole shabang only taking about six months and ask him how that squares with the later "long hard slog" statements and now 3 and a half years later with no end in sight enmeshed in a civil war.

The Press is not worth a shit in the US. They don't know and don't want to know anything about the reality of this situation and are deathly afraid of rocking the applecart headed for hell.

7. he's lost it, it was ALMOST sad watching him gather up his effects...
and try to stuff those few papers down & into a closed notebook like he didn't understand why even his own papers weren't obeying his 'commands' the end is near, there's no more time for his word-chopping gibberish

10. Disgustingly condescending. It's horrid to consider this man
lords it over us and is using our soldiers so cavalierly.

12. "Back off" and "Relax" are exactly what I was telling Rummy in 2003,
when the inspectors were working in Iraq. He just wouldn't back off OR relax, the asshole.

13. You know, people tell me I'm a little too reactive, but when
someone tell me to back off my first instinct is to get in their face and say

YOU BACK THE FUCK OFF, MOTHERFUCKER!!

I know. It's a failing of mine.

14. Ignore him.
He's not worthy of even thinking about. Akin to a roach. Who cares what pearls of wisdom he might cast down upon us swine!

15. They should back off, according to Rumsfeld. But unlike
Rumsfeld, the press was doing its job.

It's Rumsfeld's office that is having trouble executing this conflict. No wonder he's so testy.

16. Oooh, didn't he just poke a stick in a wasps' nest?
"Honorable people," my butt.

We know it's fucking complicated--hell, we probably knew the situation was complicated before Rummy did--but by the time October is over, more than 100 American soliders will have died in the Mess O'Potamia that these morons telling us to shut up, back off, and relax have made.
