Anyone hear of Zaba people Search data base? |
|
I received an email from my son saying that all of his recent and past info was listed on it. He went to it and opted out. Is it a legit site?

I don't know what you mean by legit but it certainly does sift through public records and "find" people.

3. I use it instead of a phone book. |
|
A lot of my friends fear it. It's the best I've seen. I don't know whether that is good or bad.
I actually found a long lost friend from elementary school. She had a most unusual first name and I didn't know the last name.

4. My theory is -- the "zabasearch" list is like a phishing device -- |
|
people who send the information they want "removed" are providing REAL information to zaba that might be hard to get otherwise --
If you read all the way through the article at the Snopes site, the zaba info is not all that surprising, just stuff most of us have out there in cyberspace --
But the tone of the "Oh This Is Terrible" e-mail and all the detail about opting out make me think the e-mail was originally generated by the Zaba people, phishing for valid info submitted by the searchees themselves.
This e-mail has been making the rounds for some time already.

I was thinking the same thing. If you opt out that would give them additional info. It is like getting spam faxes. The more I opted out the more I got. It was like giving them my number.

3 entries for where I live now, one for where I lived five years ago, one for ten years ago, and one for 18 years ago.
