October suprise: US navy is in the Middle East to protect Saudi Arabia
against a credible terror attack by al Qaeda. Not for war games. Not for the election. Al Qaeda is going to destroy Saudi Arabias oil and the US - and * - is there to make sure our oil doesn't go up in price.

US Warns Of Potential Threat To Saudi Oil Facilities
http://www.pakistantimes.net/2006/10/22/top14.htm

The US government has warned that it had received information of a potential threat against oil facilities in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. "The US Government has received new information of a potential threat to oil facilities in the Eastern Province, including those operated by Saudi Aramco," according to a "warden message" issued to alert US citizens.

"New information indicates threats against westerners living in Saudi Arabia continue," said the message, posted on the US State Department's Overseas Security Advisory Council website.

It did not provide any details. "We are advising US government employees to avoid non-essential travel to oil facilities, and recommend that American citizens take all possible precautions," it said.

The Embassy requests that wardens pass the following message in its entirety to members of the American Community:

The U.S. Government has received new information of a potential threat to oil facilities in the Eastern Province, including those operated by Saudi Aramco. New information indicates threats against westerners living in Saudi Arabia continue. We are advising U.S. government employees to avoid non-essential travel to oil facilities, and recommend that American citizens take all possible precautions.

4. Al Qaeda doesn't want to destroy Saudi oil
just control it. Do you have a source for this info? They may be attacking soft targets within Saudi Kingdom not the oil

The reason I ask is the Saudi Kingdom basically funds a lot of Al Qaeda operations and Wabbahism is the state religion of the Saudi Kingdom which they export to fuel the jihad mindset of many Al Qaeda members worldwide.

It would seem to against the interests of Al Qaeda to destroy Saudi Oil.

5. It was on one of the cable news stations. Here's a link to MSNBC
which could have been the channel.

"DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Coalition naval forces in the Persian Gulf are on watch for possible terror threats to oil facilities in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Western naval officials said Friday.

A British navy official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press, said a threat from al-Qaida last month to target gulf oil terminals had resulted in stepped-up security and vigilance at Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura terminal, as well as a refinery in Bahrain."
