A realistic look at our situation re: Election 2006

I'm not being pessimistic. I think it's entirely possible that the Dems could win in a landslide. Ever since * stole 2004, his popularity (along with that of the GOP in general) has been dropping like a stone. However, it is almost GUARANTEED that the Republicans will at least try to steal this election and will probably steal at least some of our votes. Since there is no way I can think of to expose their cheating to the rest of the country at the moment, we need to do the next best thing:

- if given a choice, vote on a paper ballot and encourage others to do the same
- do NOT get cocky. Remember what happened when we did that 2 years ago. This time it will be harder for the crooks to convince us that the majority of Americans suddenly decided to vote on "morals" (i.e. preventing fags from marryin'), but we cannot turn our backs on them.
- stand up to their dirty tricks. You know, like Fox labeling Foley a Dem, or that one email I heard about with a guy claiming that Dems will prevent people from lynching gays, reinstate the Fairness Doctrine and breakup the conservative monopoly on the liberal media :eyes:, or making Christianity the offical religion of America.
