Is it possible that one of the Democrats (or even one of the few liberal Republicans) who pleged to vote for Alito would NOT vote for the nuclear option, in effect staying quiet until a vote was absolutely forced?

Even though he will vote for Alito, he could vote for the right of the Senate to filibuster. Johnson is also a possibility. Nelson? I don't think so.
