does this rating REALLY matter? I don't get why we DU stuff like Amazon reviews and, now, IMDB ratings?

8. It matters more than polls from frigging local stations nobody will ever

EVER see or help form any opinion about anything whatsoever. Ratings on IMDB get seen by tens to hundreds of thousands of people and are right there on the page about a movie that more people will look at than any other page on the internet related to a film.
