DoD finally gets serious on snipers

About ****ing time.

I was in the Sandbox in '03 and early '04, before these guys got experience, but I could tell then they had talent. Most of the news goes to the IEDs, but the enemy snipers are frankly an even bigger threat. I'm glad there's at least admission now that these guys are a capable enemy.

2. I wonder if that footage on CNN had anything to do with this
You know, that footage of snipers picking off U.S. military personnel? The one CNN ran, and took a boatload of heat from rabid right? Called 'em traitors and everything? But oddly enough, a little attention gets heaped on a problem, and the military suddenly decides to do something about it.

I wonder how many more guys would have been popped if CNN hadn't run that footage? How many more military funerals could Bush avoid while mouthing his "support the troops" bullshit mantra?

it looked like CNN war toys hype when i managed to peek in to the pap.
didn't look like the stuff i watched on tv during dinner for years from viet nam.

did AC do a noble thing on purpose?
or is it the 'clock not plugged in' rule?
