They don't read real news. They don't look at any real information about Kerry. They like to spew garbage, baseless accusations, lies. Even on today of all days. You don't know what the heck any of them are talking about, 'cause...they're not talking about anything. Unless it's their own delusions.

44. Perhaps I should clarify
Since Kerry's in the news today for saying he plans to lead a filibuster, I made the (in retrospect unwarranted) assumption that the poster of the OP was saying that this act alone was enough to earn Kerry the poster's vote.

Hence my post, that it's easy to say one is going to lead a filibuster, but that I'd prefer to see if he actually backs it up.

That's it, nothing more than that.

Peace.

71. Under Senate rules, announcing the intention to filibuster IS doing
something. It triggers the cloture vote that will be held on Monday. Now he's working his ass off to get as many votes against cloture as he can.

He is taking action! And thanks to him, the other Dems are scrambling.

20. Never lost my vote...meanwhile this is an impt step towards protecting our
democracy during a time of constitutional crisis....My hope is that Kerry will continue to do this everytime there is the need and opportunity to stand in opposition to the GOP/Bush Co. attempts to thwart our democracy and constitution and that other Dems will join him.

The only way that Kerry would have "lost" my vote in '08 would be if he wasn't standing up now...

:patriot: Go Kerry!

we need to be prepared for the same crap from the rw. Swift Boat a**ssholes, the flip-flop thing, and on and on. The difference this time is that there is so many scandals this administration is involved with, not to mention the fact that they're shredding our Constitution, that I don't think their smears will work this time. They will look ridiculous in comparison (I, of course, thought they were ridiculous before.)

23. Not so fast Walt...
if Kerry was sincere, about a no holds barred, honest to god fight, he would have cancelled his trip to Switzerland and did what the hell had to be done until this thing was over.

Someone else called it "throwing us a bone", and that's exactly what's he doing. There's no sincere attempt to avoid cloture, or bring on a full on righteous filibuster or he would have cancelled his trip and joined us in the threnches right now.

You aren't giving us a "reality check," you're drawing your "logical conclusion" based only on your own ignorant conjecture, filtered through your own obvious bias against Kerry. Whatever. Keep telling yourself you know who he is, what his motives are or that you actually know anything about what's going on with this nomination if it makes you feel better.

35. speaking of pathetic...
i've been working my freaking ass off calling for a filibuster, calling and faxing and emailing and posting to filibuster, to vote NO on Alito.

We've got four defectors gone over to the other side wrt to their vote in favor of alito, never mind voting against cloture.

Kerry is an insider so he was aware where the bodies lie, yet he goes off to attend the World Economic Forum, instead of busting his ass to move earth and sky to make sure that this didn't happen.

He would have, if he was truly committed.

It couldn't be going to a better president candidate, I assure you.

It had always made me sad that a poster as intelligent and observant as you couldn't see the goodness in Kerry, felt he hadn't been the most effective candidate in 2004, and didn't seem to feel he deserved your complete trust. It's great to see you on board for the future. It will be hard, but with Kerry, it will also be POSSIBLE.

That should be our focus.
A lot will happen before 2008 gets here.
I don't mind DUers supporting the candidate of their choice, it's their right, but I don't get why so many are obsessed with announcing their choice in Jan. 2006.

It seems like when any DEM does something they really like--there are tons of those "SO AND SO in '08" threads.

Baby steps.
