Britain to Evacuate Staff From Basra

Britain said Monday it was evacuating some civilian staff from its consulate in Basra, Iraq, after mortar and rocket attacks by insurgents.

The government said some Foreign Office and Department for International Development workers would be moved from the Basra consulate - a former palace of deposed leader Saddam Hussein - to the airport outside the city.
