Swiftboaters Raise $ to Target Red State Dems. Expect Alito Vote Tues?
First a relevant message from NOW that asks YOU to call Red State Dems:

Help Us Block Alito By Calling Key Senators Today

Dear Enraged and Engaged Activists,

Despite rumors in the media, all hope is not lost. The Senate Democrats can FILIBUSTER. We're asking for one last push from our dedicated activists. Please call the Senators listed below to implore them to filibuster to save the Court from the radical right wing agenda. The support of these Senators is crucial in mounting a filibuster. And a no vote without a filibuster is a meaningless gesture. Our Senators' commitment to women's rights is a hollow shell if they will not fight to preserve them.

It only takes a few moments to call the offices of the Senators listed below, and your call could truly tip the balance and save the court.

Arkansas:
Sen. Blanche Lincoln 202-224-4843
Sen. Mark Pryor 202-224-2353

Connecticut:
Sen. Joseph Lieberman 202-224-4041

Louisiana:
Sen. Mary Landrieu 202-224-5824

North Dakota:
Sen. Byron Dorgan 202-224-2551
Sen. Kent Conrad 202-224-2043

South Dakota:
Sen. Tim Johnson 202-224-5842

West Virginia:
Se. Robert Byrd 202-224-3954

The Senate Judiciary Committee has approved Judge Samuel Alito's nomination, on a straight party-line vote of 10-8. The full Senate is now likely to vote on the nomination this TUESDAY -- or perhaps even earlier -- and groups on the far-left are pulling out ALL the stops to get enough Democrats to support a FILIBUSTER of President Bush's nominee to the Supreme Court.

All the Left needs is 41 votes in support of a filibuster, and they'll be able to BLOCK Judge Alito's confirmation... even though they're in the MINORITY.

They've got 45 Democrats in the Senate -- which means that we need AT LEAST 5 of them to vote FOR Judge Alito.

Here's where the fight is now: the Left is targeting Democrats in red states, to get them to "hold the party line" and vote FOR a filibuster. Last week, Sen. Dick Durbin stated that, "We could sustain a filibuster" -- IF they are able to convince those red state Democrats to vote with them.

That means that WE have to convince those red state Democrats to vote FOR Judge Alito's confirmation -- and we have to move FAST!

Thankfully, there's a way YOU can help NOW: RightMarch.com is part of a coalition of dozens of conservative organizations that have been fighting "tooth and nail" for President Bush's conservative judicial nominees. Now, this "Coalition For a Fair Judiciary" (CFFJ) is running television ads targeting red state Democrats, demanding that they do the RIGHT thing and vote FOR the confirmation of Judge Alito to the Supreme Court!

The first ad is running in the Dakotas, targeting South Dakota Sen. Tim Johnson and North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad. The ad campaign was put together by some of the same folks that did the "Swift Boat Veterans For Truth" ads against John Kerry in 2004.

Take a look at the first ad here: http://www.rightmarch.com/cffj.htm

THESE ARE POWERFUL ADS, and they could make the difference in our efforts to stop the radical liberal groups as they try to force a filibuster in the Senate. <snip>

Yes, these ads cost a LOT -- but they're WORTH it. In fact, looking beyond the Alito confirmation, this issue could insure that the Democrats do NOT regain the Senate in this fall's elections; Conrad is up for re-election in November, and other potential targets of these ads include Arkansas (Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor) and Florida (Sen. Bill Nelson is up for re-election this year).

The fact is that Democrats completely mishandled the Alito confirmation, and in doing so have created a political opening for the GOP. They have an enormous vulnerability there.
