Did you hear what Charlie Cook, The Cook Report, said on MSNBC???
He said it's very doubtful the repukes will be able to turn these numbers around before next Tuesday! It looks like, according to Charlie, the Democrats will pick up 20 seats. The House is in the BAG people!:bounce::woohoo::bounce:

Charlie also said it looks like we'll have a 50/50 Senate...... Meaning Cheney breaks ties, but THAT is difficult to do when your ass is sitting in jail, where I suspect he'll be spending some time...VERY SOON! Things are looking GOOD!

1. Ignore all polls and fight like hell
It's better to be pleasantly surprised than to be bitterly disappointed.

2. That's nice, but lets not get too optimistic
I remember being very up in '04 at about this time only to see disappointment. There are still many close races--including for Democrats in the Senate in NJ and MD. Also why do you think Cheney will be in jail soon? You need 2/3 of the senate to convict him if impeached.

It's looking good but still a week to go!

12. I'm not so sure about that
but even if he were forced to resign or impeached, Bush would appoint another Republican VP.

13. Right, but none as slimy and corrupt as Cheney,
right? ;)

Even if we don't have a majority in the Senate, we will win the House. Once we do that, John Conyers will be very, very busy....evidence of corruption will be exposed. Once the people know what the repukes have done, their revolution is OVER.

PLUS, it sounds like Cheney isn't the ONLY WH rat bastard who will be taken down. There are more.:)

be careful about who he chooses.

I *AM* optimistic and will remain so. It's what spurns me on to work harder.

Please stop telling people not to get optimistic.
Thanks.

Peace.

I really need to dig up those studies I read during my psych major days that demonstrate that optimism is a better motivator and energizer than pessimism.

3. Nothing is in the bag
until election day, and I hope our pickup is closer to 30 than 20. That's a definite possibility. As for Cheney being in jail, it's a great fantasy, but that's all it is.

Make sure you shout it from the house tops and don't give them a chance to steal it. Time for Dems to stop this coward's approach. Every poll that matters has the Democratic Party in front. Time to go on the offensive Dems.

11. My thoughts too. EVEN THE MSM is on this this time!
They aren't giving the repukes any room for FOUL PLAY. If ALL polls show the Dems will win, they make think twice before stealing this one.

..the GOP will FIGHT tooth and freakin' nail.

We're talking allegations of voter fraud (Venezuela interfered with our election machines!), court battles -- think of the worst lies and propaganda efforts of the past six years and multiply that by six.

That's what I'm afraid of..

21. Remember Washington in 2004
and how they drug the court challenges out for months. We can expect that again. Charges of vote miscounting and voter fraud for the most miniscule of reasons.

Call For Change: It's Too Close NOT to Call

Call for Change -- It`s Too Close NOT to Call -- MoveOn.org Political ActionThis year, victory will come down to voter turnout. We've found the Democratic-leaning people who often don't vote in mid-term elections like this one. If we can just get these “unlikely voters” to vote, they'll provide a winning margin in a whole bunch of races.

Over 30 races are in a dead heat – margins of a few thousand or few hundred votes. We’ve tested these calls, and we know they work – the people we talk to are much more likely to turn out. Your calls could tip the balance – but we're in a daily struggle to make sure we're reaching more voters than the Republicans’ infamous turnout program. Can you help?

15. don't count your diebold returns before they're official ...
... or something like that.

there are a lot of people watching the district by district polling and saying a pickup of 23-27 seats is probable. I'll believe it when they get sworn in.

25. I understand.....believe me. I worry too,
but if all polls say the Dems take the House by 20 seats, KKKRove will think twice before he steals this election. IF he does steal it, people will be SCREAMING FRAUD. Many, many, many more people know about the hackable evoting machines now.

26. Optimism is one thing...
it's up there with wishful thinking. Being overly confident is another animal entirely and a dangerous one, as it can lead to complacency.

As for the MSM leading the charge of a Dem 'landslide', I'm not sure this is a good thing. While it makes my heart sing to hear, again it can lead some to be complacent. If the MSM make it sound like such a certainty, many who would get off their duffs and go vote in a 'tight race' will not bother as they have been led to believe it's 'already in the bag'. Indys and pissed off repubs will also feel their vote is not needed. It will also motivate more repugs to turn out to fight the 'odds'.

I have been on this roller coaster of emotions too many times to buy into 'it's a slam dunk!' Calling this election before Nov 8th is dangerous and counter productive. We have to fight like we're the underdog to the last vote, or we'll end up losing....again.
