Here's the article: As I'll explain later, this asshole doesn't even own the property.
http://www.hernandotoday.com/news/MGBF12PATTE.htmlBROOKSVILLE — Brooksville Realtor Gary Schraut describes himself as a staunch Republican.
“I’m a Reagan Republican,” he joked. “That’s worse than a Republican.”
So it’s no wonder Schraut takes exception to Democratic candidates erecting signs on his property. He doesn’t agree with them philosophically, nor does he want his clients thinking that he does.
(snip)
He didn’t want to single out any candidate. However, Schraut said the worst violator Friday was Democrat John Russell, running for the U.S. House of Representatives in the Fifth Congressional District.
He stickered Russell’s signs three times in one day because someone kept replacing them, Schraut said.
“His people were very aggressive (Friday),” Schraut said. “(They) have ignored instructions to stay off my property.”
It turns out that Schraut is a MLS Realtor, and considers anything in the MLS his jurisdiction.
Here's my reply.
Gary Schraut could have saved himself a lot of time and work, had he
noted the web address of the John Russell Campaign. Our telephone number
is listed there, and had he called our office we could have arranged to
remove the offending signs in a timely manner.
As is our policy, we try to only post our signs in the allowable areas,
according to the law. Unfortunately, in the 5th Congressional district,
our signs are stolen and torn down with mind-boggling frequency, and
later turn up in piles in protected forests, dumpsters, and vacant lots.
We would like to extend appreciation to Mr. Shraut, for drawing
attention to the efficiency of our unpaid, all -volunteer campaign
staff. As a low budget, grassroots campaign, without hundreds of
thousands of dollars to spend on a tsunami of negative, misleading TV
ads, we deeply appreciate their efforts to keep John Russell's name in
the public view, until we win the election.
Sincerely,
I didn't bother to tell them that "in a timely manner" means next Wed.
