Do you think bush knows what winning means or... |
|
is he trying to hold on until someone else can deal with all of his problems.

http://thinkprogress.org/2005/06/28/in-1999-bush-demanded-a-timetable/“Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is.” Apparently that only holds true when the President is a Democrat. BTW, welcome to DU! :hi:

7. I notice that everything the democrats say.. |
|
they use it now and they try to say that them dems want to leave right away. They know what the dems mean, leaving little by little and letting the Iraqi troops take over for those who leave. I don't believe that this country will ever be what Bush wants to portray and he doesn't even know what he is portraying...he doesn't know what get the job done means, or winning.

12. Or how Bush says the Dems have no strategy... |
|
...but has failed to lay out a coherent strategy himself. His "plan" if you can call it one is "trust us", whatever happened to the party of Reagan and his policy of "Trust, but Verify"?

2. Why Bush Thinks We're Winning |
|
One of the more reality-defying aspects of President Bush's position on the war in Iraq is his insistence that we're winning...
...With the body counts soaring, the country descending deeper into civil war and the central government consistently unable to assert itself, how can he call this winning?
The answer: It's becoming increasingly clear that Bush sees the war in Iraq in very simple terms. As he himself said, he believes that the only way to lose is to leave. Therefore anything else is winning - anything else at all.
Even if no progress is being made - even if things are getting worse, rather than better - simply staying is winning.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/blog/2006/10/26/BL2006102600725.htmlNGU.

4. He doesn't care one bit. It's just the focus-group tested word du jour. |
|
Bush invaded Iraq to conquer it, to station our troops there, and to lock up their oil for us, with a side hope that maybe our presence there would help us occupy the Middle East. He's already won. To him, losing would be leaving. So he'll say whatever word he thinks will convince us to stay until he has to come up with the next buzz-word.

11. When people stop bothering him with questions |
|
That would be his version of 'winning'. He thought it was going to be some kind of cake walk with everyone worshiping him and it hasn't quite turned out that way, now he just wants it to go away
