Duncan Hunter (R-CA) announces presidential bid...
right when you maybe republican candidates couldn't get any more detached x(

'Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) has formally announced that he is preparing to seek the 2008 Republican nomination for president, RAW STORY has learned.

Reports earlier indicated that the Southern California Representative was forming an exploratory committee concerning his presidential ambitions. Hunter surpassed that expectation at a news conference today, indicating that he would spend the next two years preparing for a run.

Hunter's conservative credentials are seen as likely to a fill a void in a field currently dominated by moderate Republican hopefuls.'

9. Sorry, it's "Lee"
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duncan_Hunter . Great idea, though!

BTW, according to Wikipedia, DLH can stand for "Dirty Little Helper," a website that provides cheats, tips, tricks, etc. for video games. Not a bad nickname for a Republican politician, no?

She kept talking to him while he was trying to speechify. I lost interest in the live feed long before he announced...

12. Isn't he the nutcase who has been
lobbying to open up one of California's beautiful Channel Islands (not even in his district) to disabled vets for hunting? Because of the rough terrain, the vets aren't interested, but he keeps pushing the scheme anyway. Have to wonder what's in it for him.

14. He is conceding the house.
But sheesh that is audacious..has not even beeen re-elected yet and he is running for another office..

I don't get this. I mean I am sure its a safe seat..b ut you are just setting yourslef up for attacks by other GOPers for stuff like this. Not to mention pissing off your own base.

Oh and by the way. If you think its is hard for a Senator to be elected president. Try running from the House. It has never been done. I am not even sure a House member has gotten a nomination for even the VP slot.

25. He used to be my congressman
unfortunately I moved to the 42nd up in North Orange county where there is no one running against the repub tool (Gary Miller) that I have for a congressman now. Man, I would have loved the chance to make my first vote as a US citizen against Duncan Hunter - but now I have to be satisfied with votes for Angelides for gov. DiFi for senate (although I am a bit ambivalent about that) and Yes on prop 87. not too stunning but it'll do.

small business owner, working on doctorate in leadership; intends to see Duncan behind bars some day, I believe. Says $80.00 will put a commercial on teevee for his campaign. Hunter refuses to debate him. First time Hunter's even come close to being opposed. VERY red neck area. Help him out if you can.
