Only problem is no one will hear him.

3. That actually will hurt him.
The book attack was the lamest thing I have ever seen and that's saying a lot.

6. I never said it would help him
I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the way Webb's campaign handled that--more deftly than I've seen Democrats handle smearing like that in a long time.

10. Thanks!
Good to know. Looks like Rasmussen has already moved some races today, though.

8. If We Got The House And It's 50-50 Or 51-49 In The Senate I'll Be Pleased
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 04:58 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
Plus we should get a majority of gubernatorial races...

I think it would be a funny in a 50-50 Senate to have Cheney have to spend all his days in the Senate as the deciding vote on controversial bills...

12. senate
50-50 in the senate won't always mean that votes are 50/50. You always have 1 or 2 from each side voting
the other way like Chaffee or Ben Nelson.

The most important thing is who leads the committees. Last time it was 50/50 they agreed to split the
committes, but I'm not sure everything will be that easy this time.

51-49 would be dramatically better, but i don't know if that's possible.

20. The Democrats suggested splitting the committees, but
the Republicans said no. They said Cheney was their tie-breaking vote, so they had a clear majority.

13. I'm Not Greedy
Strategically it's better to let the GOPU control the Senate so their candidate can't run against a Democratic congress in 08...

17. from Kos: Rasmussen: Webb leads Allen by 5 (counting leaners)
http://dailykos.com/

Rasmussen will soon release a Sunday-night poll showing Webb with the lead:

Rasmussen. 10/25. Likely voters. MoE 4.5% (10/25 results)

Allen (R) 46 (50)
Webb (D) 51 (48)

That includes leaners. Without, Webb leads 48-46, so the undecided are leaning Webb. This is a dramatic reversal.

In 2005, Democrat Tim Kaine surged in the polls after Republicans ran the infamous "Hitler ad". Now, Webb appears to be surging based on the bullshit attacks on his well-received, well-respected scholarly books.

We won't know for sure until Election Day, but if both Ford and Webb win, their victories will come despite having been subjected to the worst garbage imaginable from the GOP sleaze machine.

18. Perhaps the GOP has reached the sleaze limit
I'd love to see an election where there comes a clear tipping point and all negative ads past that point hurt the attacker.
