“Death to Musharraf, Death to Bush”

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15477981/page/2/

<snip>

“The government has launched an attack during the night, which is against Islam and the traditions of the area,” Siraj ul-Haq, a Cabinet minister from the North West Frontier Province, told the AP. Ul-Haq said he would resign in protest.

“We heard helicopters flying in and then heard bombs,” said one of the villagers, Haji Youssef. “We were all saddened by what we have seen.”

Thousands of people traveled from nearby villages to inspect the destroyed madrassa, some crying and others chanting “Long live Islam.” The blast leveled the building, tearing mattresses and scattering Islamic books, including copies of the Quran.

In the nearby town of Khar, some 2,000 tribesmen and shopkeepers marched through the main street. “Death to Musharraf, Death to Bush,” the procession chanted.

5. I predicted that the October Surprise would be the assassination of
Mussharaf, during a conversation with others on the subject about two weeks ago. He was in the United States, appeared on The Daily Show, and other programs, was promoting a book, and was presenting the face of a different kind of Muslim. He has been subject to other assassination plots, and it would not be a surprise that other plots were brewing. I don't think that the United States would have a hand in it, but it would be the type of thing that brings chaos to a region. I can see where the Bush administration would let it happen on purpose.

4. You know I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say...

that most people's heart and minds aren't won by killing their family members. It's might not be true, people might just fall in love with our country if we bomb the hell out of them, but I just don't think that's the way it is. I know if someone killed one of my family members I probably wouldn't be too happy with them, but again that's just me.
