Gov. Granholm hugged me!
Gov. Granholm had a campaign stop in town today, and even though it was a bit much for me to do so soon after my surgery, my mom, my four year old son, and I all went.

My son was getting squirrelly during the speeches by the local candidates before Granholm's bus got there, so my mom took him outside. They were still outside when her bus arrived, and my son was one of the first to greet her when she stepped out. She crouched down to say hi to him, and after he shook her hand, he threw himself at her for a hug. :) My mom got the best pictures.

She gave an amazing speech, and she owned that room. I've seen her speak before, but it was really something to hear her in a restaurant with only 150 people or so around her. She is just awesome!!!

Afterwards, in the crush, it looked like I wasn't going to be able to shake her hand. One of her staffers recognized my son and asked if I were his mom. I said yes and that I was supposed to be a precinct captain for the campaign (the only one in town, actually, but that's another story) but had to stop because of my cancer. She then passed me up the staffer chain, and I got to shake Gov. Granholm's hand. :D When her staffer told her about me, she asked my first name, pulled me into a hug, and whispered that she's going to pray for me. I tell ya, it made me cry.

There were so many new Dem friends there, and they were all so wonderful. I had missed them during this ordeal. I know I can't do much, since they're phone banking and have all the lists at the office where I can't sit for long (stupid rib), but I can pray, I can post here and on my blog, and I can call Dems from an old list I have to get out the vote. I wish I could do more.

3. I don't know--he's still too close in the polls.
I just can't understand why anyone would vote against her, let alone vote for DeVos. *shudder* He's too dang close to evil for me.

5. .
Great story and that was nice of her.
I always hear that it is currently a tough time for Michigan. But I'm sure she is working very hard to do her best for the state.

6. Knitter...I'm so glad you made it through
the surgery. You must share the photos when you can sweet pea.

Every little bit helps. Trust me...You wouldn't have gotten that kind of treatment at a GOP gathering. E-mail me if you need (is you blog here?).

I was thinking and praying about you weekend before last. Will keep it up-home the Turkey day plans are humming along.

7. Thank you. Bless you.
I'm really leaning on everyone's prayers and good thoughts. We're on pathologist number four and still haven't heard what my tumor was. *sigh* The not-knowing sucks.

My blog addy is on my profile. I hope to have the pics tomorrow. My son was so amazingly excited at meeting her. I wonder if it's because he's heard me talk about her so much. ;)
