Dobbs: "2 weeks ago conventional wisdom was that Dems would soar to victory"
"That is now in doubt as the races are tightening blah blah blah blah."

They have Candy Crowley staking out "Missoura" doing her best to rally the Talent vote by pointing out how the Michael J. Fox ads have not changed public opinion blah blah blah blah. It's all so predictable and mind-numbing after a while.

3. "Give him a break" Oh, OK, he didn't open his show with the line quoted.
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 06:44 PM by Bluebear
I have not seen any polls "tightening" like he dramatically led with, why should he get a break on that?

15. I didn't hear it but he tries to make things bi-partisian...
I know. I know. He pisses me off too, but he is still the only one doing any real reporting.

5. So, maybe Lou is setting it up that Dems stole the elections due to the
voting machines? What happened in the last 2 weeks? bush talking? his approval has not budged...why would the forturnes of the repukes change?

16. What about the Dem leadership? Shouldn't they be saying something?
Lou dobbs is just one show. All the Dems have to do is get on TV and say something. If this election gets stolen, it will be because of lack of leadership!

4. They are just creating a need to watch them. No one turns in to a blowout.
What happens if a baseball game is 10-1 in the second inning? Or a Superbowl is 35-0 at halftime? These big media outlets MUST create a need for people to watch.

6. Lou's entitled to his own opinions, but he's NOT entitled to his own facts.
I trust Charlie Cook's review of the situation. Charlie says there's no way the repukes will be able to turn these numbers around before the election and the Dems will take 20 House seats. Charlie does this for a living. Lou Dobbs doesn't.

You can imagine how 'unbiased' that is.

No one to counter her. Unfair & Unbalanced.

Lou just wants ratings.... and more viewers will watch
a so-advertised "close-call" over a clean sweep.

Whatever,... we know what we need to do

12. Lou Doobies Has O'Reilly Envy
Look closely at the game he's playing...trying to be the populist and the "champion of the middle class". Not bad for a guy who shilled non-stop in the 90's for his beloved Wall Street and the corporate robber barons who turned him from a cub reporter into a celebrity. I've never trusted Doobies intentions and now I think I see why. He sees O'Reilly's ratings and this is what he wants to tap into...masking the agenda in the trojan horse of "standing up for the Middle Class". Has he yet to out a major corporation that profits from those "aliens"? Nope...easier to hammer on the Mexicans. When he deals with electronic voting, does he cite Diebold's heavy connections to the GOOP? Nope...tries to tie Hugo Chavez and help in what I'm sure we'll soon hear of Repugnicans screaming the "elections were hacked".

This is no longer a "newscast", it's a advocacy show and hopefully the folks here at DU can keep that in mind and the agenda that Lou Doobies is trying to promote.

9. They always do this close to the elections.
The Dems will be in the lead for months by double digits, but during the last two weeks, the GOP "miraculously" starts showing up ahead or neck-to-neck with the Dems in the polls. Mysterious, isn't it?

18. Building suspense
Let's face it. If it were a slam-dunk, there wouldn't be as much drama.

It's pretty stupid, I know, but I keep all that in the back of my head when I watch that shit.

10. But, but, but what about the "war on the middle class"?
Who are the warriors? Aren't they repukes? If Dobbs shills for the repukes, won't that ensure that the "war on the middle class" continues unabated?

I'm so confuuuused! </barbarino>

Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 07:16 PM by depakid
not many people buy into Fox's blatant crap- but unfortunately, many still watch CNN and give them credibility that they DO NOT deserve.

21. Guys....
... (and gals) there is a simpler explanation to the media blather du jour than the one you are all buying into.

The media WANTS this to be a horse race. They NEED to have the "what will happen?" thing fully revved up.

It's called drumming up an audience and that's what they do.

You know and I know and the world knows that the polls have not changed in any significant way.

Don't worry about the presstitutes, it's their job.
