Are exit polls going to be leaked to the internet on election day?

Put aside all of your Diebold conspiracy theories for moment. Early rounds of exit polls can really mess with your head because they only sample early voters, which may or may not be an accurate sampling of voters in a state's population. Sometimes early rounds of exit polls have disproportionately sampled one part of a state, while undersampling other parts of a state to be done later in the day.

But then the damn exit polls are leaked, they spread to the internet like a cancer, and then to talk radio and sometimes even to cable news. People jump to conclusions and then when the results don't go their way, they start in with the conspiracy theories.

And by the way, who is it who leaks these results to the internet in the early afternoon anyway?

1. Is there any law against "leaking" exit polls?

For that matter, is there any law against false reporting of exit polls?

After all, exit polls are private undertakings and it's just some guy on the internet who says a friend of his told him, etc.

2. True exit polls have ALWAYS been right on the money...but with republicans

like Fox now doing them...I don't trust them, until BushCo...But, even in Florida & Ohio, the exit polls reported Gore & Kerry the winners and accurately so, in the mentioned respective states...But now, the right-wing news sources will lie and manipulate...Again, with true exit polling, there's no better way to know the winners and who the voters voted for and why...As in Ukraine & Mexico...but the right-wing in our country has now disavowed them because they report accurately on the voting and it becomes easy to recognize the thefts ...So they must distort....Pure and accurate exit polling tells all...However, will we ever have it again?
