6. Please don't try to "DU this poll" on Wikipedia |
|
The AfD process is supposed to determine whether there's a consensus among Wikipedians concerning whether to keep an article. The article on Andy Stephenson himself was deleted in violation of that principle, and those of us who are active on Wikipedia are trying to have it restored.
The AfD process is not like those silly AOL "polls" where anybody can vote and they tally the results. People who haven't been involved in building the encyclopedia can show up and cast their votes, with or without registering an account, and their votes will be ignored as being irrelevant to the determination of whether there's consensus in the Wikipedia community.
What would actually help, with regard to the Votergate film or films, would be for people with some knowledge to go to the actual article and edit it, preferably with citations to show the source of any information that might reasonably be disputed. What's particularly needed for AfD is information that shows the film's notability by objective standards -- that people have taken note of it, etc., not that its contents are truthful. You can find the article . Click on the "Edit this page" link at the top, left, or bottom to add information and citations. If you can't figure out how to format it correctly, just get the information down; someone else can tidy it up.
