Why is Laura Ingram so full of hate?
Just saw here on Larry King. I've never paid any attention to her (or she's gotten much mor shrill over time.)

First she criticized Fox for not having read the amendment in MO. She FAILED to say that Fox said he is NOT campaigning for the amendment, he is campaigning for the Senate so they can override Bush's veto. (I was so screaming at her.)

Then she said: If the Democrats don't win this election and win it big, they should pack up and go away. Crap.

Ah, now Stephanie Miller, I've never seen her before. She's nice after that horrid Laura woman.

1. Because, she senses a republican loss, Coulter's making all the bucks but,

mostly because she's a hateful lying elitist racist republican propagandist.

She so used to having the airwaves being 100% republican, no questions asked.

Ingram, frustratingly believes she's STILL the "young" darling of the conservative (fascist) movement...Wake up Laura!!

3. She's a hateful shrew of a woman
In David Brock's book "Blinded by the Right" he says he remembers her from college where she and other young Repukes would out gays. But didn't you love how Carville handled her? Cut right through her attempt to frame the debate and framed it the way he wanted to. David Gergen was effective, too. She can steamroll and she couldn't with these pros.

4. She's A Merry Prankster
Came up through the East Coast hate/slime machine of young Repugnicans in the 80s and early 90s...along with her running buddy Ann Coultergeist...they made their big "claim to fame" in working with Lucretia Goldberg and Drudge in putting out the Lewinski tapes and starting the Clinton fiasco in '98. At the time she was a regular on Imus' morning show and he helped her get her own morning show that didn't last long, but made her a "pundit".

Now she's employed by Salem Broadcasting...the owners of the most rabid hate radio stations in the country and gets to spew to the faithful on low rated radio stations across the country bought and paid for by religious organziations and back channels of the Repugnican spin machine. This "babe" definitely has some serious esteem issues. All that hate in one person must make for a miserable life.

I wonder what rock they found this Katherine Ham. I first saw her up against Matt Stoller on Washington Journal a week ago and he took her apart and unmasked her as a stuck-up, spoiled frat girl. How she lands on Larry King shows how desperate the RNC is to get a talking head to go out there and get bashed on these shows.

7. Agreed...But That Was The Name
I just finished reading a book about the history of the Haight and Mr. Kesey's many parties and "tests" (damn I wish I could have been there).

I think the name was given them by Michael Isakoff...their mole who really gave this story legs.

9. what's the book?
Kesey came to our church camp. Yes, that's right. Unitarian church camp held each year in Asilomar California. I wasn't there that year (only for high schoolers where I came from) but my sister went and my mom was the chaperone. Anyway, Kesey brought his bus full of Merry Pranksters (people he'd liberated from mental hospitals) and gave the kids from church camp acid.

Can you just imagine a camp full of liberals trying to decide what to do with that? There's a chapter about it in Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Wolfe but not sure Wolfe was there for all the liberal angst. Split the group with the completely anti Kesey group refusing to return the next year.

Is there another book about Kesey's strange trip?

10. It's "The Haight-Ashbury"
By Charles Perry and intro by Bob Weir. I picked it up at a "boutique" on Haight Street last summer.

ANother book I've had for ages is Pig Farm that as Kesey's "diary" of the Kool Aid Acid Trips. That's what first got me interested in the man...then Cuckoos Nest came out.

I could just imagine the parties with the Hells Angels in some deserted mining town...a time long lost.

Cheers...

6. Now the meme is "If the Dems don't win, and win big."
Perhaps Miss Ingraham sees the handwriting on the wall. A year ago, everybody on her side was going, "No way the Dems gain 15 seats."

We should win this in a laugher. (In 1994 they got a 54 seat pickup, and they had a higher hill to climb.)

I'm very optimistic.

8. Some people are just like that. And they are ALWAYS republicans.
Haters gravitate toward the party platform of hate.

14. If Democrats don't win this election I will pack it up and leave
If they can't win in an environment like this then they are just not worthy. Remember they are every bit as aware as we are that Republicans plan to rig the vote. If they are not able to counter that then they are not able to counter terrorists or much of anything..This is their last shot. If they don't do something now they never will...

15. She isn't really, it's just a method of propaganda
They've been in control of congress since '94, they've had the White House since 2000, so why are the still so angry? Short answer, they're not. The anger and attacks are time tested propaganda methods to keep the base on fire. Radicalism dies in the absence of anger and zealotry. Attack your opponents, accuse them of being just as dishonest as you are, attack any source of information you don't control.
Always frame the message in your terms. Lie shamelessly, tell them up is down, black is white, war is peace, freedom is slavery. As the Nazis proved, it does work. But the bright spot is that it does not work forever. As for Laura Ingram, maybe what she really hates is not making the same bucks as Mann Coulter.
