16. They say "I voted Touch Screen" when I turned in my absentee ballot in San Diego this morning!
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 01:02 PM by calipendence
Brad, this will add more fuel to the fire on Mikel Haas's efforts to throw away our democracy along with throwing out paper ballots.

I voted absentee for the first time this year, and dropped off my ballot at the Voter Registrar's office this morning. When I handed it to the woman that was taking "dropoffs" of them from cars, she handed back to me a sticker that said "I Voted Touch Screen", instead of the traditional "I Voted" stickers I'd gotten in the past when I voted at the polls. This looks to be from Mikel Haas's office, since it says "County of San Diego" on it too. Are there going to be just plain "I Voted" stickers that people will get too? Will people voting on paper (IF they get the option to do that here) be forced to wear this sort of sticker instead of a NORMAL plain "I Voted" sticker?

Does this also make a comment that they intend to enter in all of our absentee ballots through Diebold TSX machines, which would be even worse, since we won't be able to monitor if it is flipping our votes when they do so.

I will try and find some time to scan this sticker in later when I get some time.

This sounds like a mess! Haas is such a Nazi! He needs to be personally sued after this election!

Folks, if you are taking a camera to monitor polls at the election next week, you might want to get the following button to help you record any vote flipping that might be going on that might otherwise not get recorded if we wait until after the fact when a voter complains.

19. For those looking to place blame ...
Remember who controls all 3 branches of the Federal Government? Who controls the executive branches of California, Ohio, and Florida? Not Democrats. There is virtually nothing the Democratic party can do about these problems.

imho

23. I understand your frustration.
But if they did that they'd be called sore losers, whiners, conspiracy theorists, or just plain loony. It's unlikely that the majority of Americans would not believe them. Or, at least, that, I think, is why they have been silent. It's a Republican with a conscience who will have to expose this corruption and bring down the Republican party. At the moment, the Democratic party lacks the power to do anything.

I wouldn't suggest taking a camera in until you check your state laws.
