Is uber-conservatism some sort of weird mental disability? |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 10:23 AM by Philosoraptor
If it is, I've been making fun of the disabled, and I am ashamed of myself. These people are seriously disabled to the point of being emotionally and psychologically crippled. This in itself wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that their affliction affects us all.
I think maybe they should be isolated, quarantined, put in some sort of a conservative colony, like a leper colony.
Until their virulent disease of acute, severe conservatism can be cured, these extremely contagious sickos should be either cured or relieved of their terrible sufferings.

3. There are several mental illnesses |
|
associated with conservatism.
There's one--I don't remember the name, so let's just call it Dick Cheney's disease--where you are absolutely incapable of empathy. We could also call this sociopathic conservatism.
There's another one--I think it's called "borderline psychosis"--where you start to go insane unless you feel that an ironclad fist of authority is bearing down on the whole world around you. We could call this psychopathic conservatism.

I believe in conservation, in conserving the original spirit and intent of the Constitution.
I'm a conservative (Republicanism is the disease)

5. When someone is so ideological that they have to try and keep schools from teaching |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 10:27 AM by Mountainman
science that contradicts their ideology, I think they are mentally disabled, yes. When someone can't have empathy for someone else's suffering because it would slow down their wealth accumulation, I think they are mentally disabled, yes. When someone sees a disaster like Katrina as good because it moves the poor people out of town, I think they are mentally disabled, yes. When someone supports a war against a country that is no threat to us because their oil stocks will increase in value, I think they are mentally disabled, yes. When they say killing of 600,000 Iraqis and 3000 American soldiers is an acceptable number of deaths because we have to win, I think they are mentally disabled, yes. Shall I go on?

6. I prefer to call it... "Hard of Thinking". |
|
However, I direct my suspicions more at the group who currently hold the label. 'Republican'... (A.K.A. The Backwash)
I can't categorically fault 'conservatives'... Who when at their best, brought us 'environmental conservation'.
