If Dems take Congress, the first order of business for the WH |
|
will be accepting Rummy's resignation.
Why? As evident as it is that he is incompetent, it would be a monumental disaster for Bush to have him in front of House Committees as a sitting SecDef. (A resigned Rummy gives cover for Bush to once again NOT be held accountable.)
Keep that in mind when you're knocking on doors! :hi:

Have I ever mentioned I once found 18 seconds worth of magnetic tape inside of one of the walls during a renovation?
I wonder what's on it?

6. Don't know, but 18 minutes would be worth a lot. |

2. I'll be happy if they just halt the Bush Regime terror |
|
I mean, Bush is gonna veto anything that is written by a democrat so in a nutshell we need to hold this congress tight, get the budge in line until 2008

9. Bush is going to set records on vetoes |
|
Agreed. He broke records on signing statements, now he'll go for the gold on the vetoes.

4. And who takes his place? |
|
Imagine this nightmare scenario:
The Democrats take the Senate by one seat. Bush accepts Rumsfeld's resignation and appoints Joe Lieberman as his "bipartisan" Secretary of Defense.
The *Republican* governor of Connecticut names Joe's replacement.

10. It's already a nightmare |
|
That scenario would just prolong the current one we're in.
IF Lieberman were to be nominated, the confirmation process could be "interesting" to say the least. I don't recall Lieberman having military experience (though I may very well be incorrect about that). It seems to me that the public will demand some military experience for the next SecDef; I'm thinking Warner might be at the top of Bush's list.
