Bar fight due to politics.

For those of you that do not know I am a Gay man.

Last night two of my straight friends convinced me to go to a straight bar (redneck bar at that) and I promised myself that I would behave (that didn't last two minutes).

As we walked up to the bar to place our drink order I heard someone say paraphrasing (President Bush has been America's saviour), I proceeded to explain then what a false prophet is & before I could finish the sentence I heard you must be queer & then came the beer bottle over the head. It didn't hurt me, it pissed me off more than anything else (well it did hurt a little bit).

Now I don't fit into the typical gay stereotype as defined by the straight community & I was holding my own until it was four against one, and to my surprise others came to my defense (just goes to prove not all rednecks are right wing assholes).

To make a long story short the guy that hit me in the head with the beer bottle was going to be arrested after they took him to the emergency room.

As they were putting this asshole into the ambulance I asked him how it felt to get his ass kicked by a faggot and that everybody in the bar saw it. And as a parting shot I said You fight just like Bush's minions.

7. The two guys I grew up with that...

came out of the closet when we reached adulthood (over a decade ago)...I'm still in contact with on a regular basis.

And they were both ass-kickers too. One of them said, "I had to defend myself constantly from people that thought I was gay. I've got lots of practice at kicking ass."

And I had the chance to see him beat the tar out of a guy at the smoking section who called him a faggot. My buddy was 6 inches shorter...but just proceeded in turtling this guy. We had to pull him off because dude wasn't defending himself anymore.

But still, every few months someone would f with him.

often make that mistake (actually they are spoon fed that lie) until a DEM (gay or otherwise) opens that can of whoop ass on them.


I notice that at every DEM rally I go to there is always a healthy number of vets(VN War)-I don't see that many at GOP gatherings (they tend to be WWII vets-but WWII vets are evenly divided I think). I think that an overwhelming number of Iraq vets will be DEM's-which doesn't bode well for the future of the GOP.

16. Similar thing happened to me in 1966.

I was fresh out of the marines with a big grudge against "The Suck", as we non-lifers called it, and was already against the war in Vietnam. I was working in construction and in pretty good shape. Being young and impetuous I let some of my thoughts about the military, LBJ, and the war be known.

A couple of fellas took offense though I wasn't shouting or even being particularly offensive. The barmaid suggested, politely,because of the tense situation, that I consider just leaving. So, I shrugged, finished my beer and left.

Just as I was getting into my car, the two guys jumped me. Much to my surprise, I kicked both of their asses. I went back in the bar for a celebritory beer and the two guys came back in after me, intent on round 2. The barmaid had had enough and the cops arrived. To my utter astonishment, most of the "redneck" patrons backed me and the two guys were hauled off.

However, the barmaid suggested, for the good of my health, and her furniture, that I no longer frequent the establishment because those guys had a lot of friends.

Youth, idealism, and beer are a bad mix.
