If the guy approached ALlen and asked why he "spit on his wife", a lot of folks in Virginia (I've lived here my entire life) are going to sympathize with Allen, not the guy who got roughed up.

Virginians reacted to Kilgore's over the top attacks on Tim Kaine by ditching Kilgore. The feeling was that the "book attack" by Allen on Webb was backfiring as well. But this could end up tainting Webb, I fear.
